Block02 Part17 ~ Painting from Direct Observation #7
I do well with paint density and sharp edges. I am getting better about the measurements of my drawings. I am still working on getting my gradients as perfect as I can. They always seem to be not soft enough at the edges, so i am working on getting them better.
My Highlights and Reflections are good. Learning how to add those has made the paintings look more real. Almost like professional paintings. I am loving the entire process and the organization of attention to detail that this course requires. I think that hearkens back to my training as a Library Media Specialist. I do love detail, except I don't do as well with that since my stroke, but I am very grateful for the way I am bouncing back; not quite to where I was before, but I work hard at healing. I also believe that this course and all it requires has really helped me a lot. The need to work to keep up with a schedule has helped with my stamina.
Some of the older students have agreed with me that when we all first started painting, our hands shook and we couldn't paint for very long at a time. As the days and projects have progressed, both of these areas have gotten better. So I see this course as part of my healing process and am very grateful for the opportunity to be enrolled in this course.
A big thank you goes out to all of the people who work in the program and help all of us students. They are a great group of people.
