Block02 Part16 ~ Painting from Direct Observation #6

I did very well with this drawing and painting. I am only missing a small gradient on the cup handle. All my edges, values and gradients were done well.

The items in my photo are from my Pfaltzgraff collection of stoneware. I am excited to be able to finally be able to draw these with better measurements. For now, we are just painting with gray scale paints, but in the next section of Block02, we will be learning how to paint with colored oil paints. I am hoping that with practice, I can succeed in color so that I can paint some of my Pfaltzgraff as colored paintings.

I am liking what the black paint on the interior of my Still Life Box does for the photos. It has made a nice difference in how I see the measurements as well as the Shadows, Lights and Gradient areas. Four (4) more to go before we start color paintings.
