Block01 Part14 ~ Cone, Pear and Candle Holder
This was very fun to paint, and I think one of my better paintings. I spent all day painting and the evening taking over 30 photos at different camera settings and lighting settings in a scientific manner to evaluate for the best photo. Think I rocked it.
Before this evening and my photo shoot experiment, my paintings were haphazard in quality. They would glare from incorrect lighting and many showed spots that were not canvas showing through paint but was too much paint that would catch the light and reflect it badly.
I did ask on our Facebook Group about how some of the other student were able to get such lovely photos of their paintings, and one young man gave me some hints.
The greatest help that he told me was to have the only light source coming from behind the painting so that there is no glare. It has helped my photos of my work so much. Thank you to that helper.
On a side note, I do want to say that the young people who do the critiques are some of the nicest you could imagine. They are quick with praise for what is done correctly, and gentle with any critiques that must be made to help us get better with our work.
Also, the Facebook Study Group is very helpful with answers when a problem arises.
