Block02 Part10 ~ Proportional Drawing #8

The Proportional Drawing lessons have been so informative. I feel that I have learned a lot doing all the practice. After having such a difficult time with proportions and trying to draw things that are beyond my capabilities, I ordered some styrofoam shapes from Michael's craft store. There were six (6) pieces included in the set for just under $20. I eventually painted them different colors so that they are ready for when we do drawings and paintings in color, but for this drawing, I wanted to get on with the process and not take time to wait for paint to dry on these before doing this lesson.

I only used three pieces from the set to get started. Again, just trying to keep the setup basic until I am more confident with my measurements.

I have also been doing more than one drawing in addition to the lesson required. It was necessary to help me get more comfortable with measuring.

It was about this point when I realized that using a knitting needle was not working at all for me. Research into alternate ways to do Proportional Drawing led me to the Draftsman's Divider, so I ordered two(2). You can see the photo of them here.
