Block01 Part19 ~ Two Cats 

This is another one of my favorite paintings. Of course, it helps that I like kitties. It took me several days of studying the photo to determine the Shadows and Lights and then to further decide which were Extreme and which were Moderate. Finally, choosing where and how to do buffers and gradients came into play. 

Maybe because the painting was so dark, it was more of a challenge to make all of the above choices. This painting looks so elegant that I want to paint this on a larger scale and with a stretched canvas. 

The legs of the right cat do have a half step down to highlight them, but it doesn't show very well in my work. The hardest gradient to do seemed to be the left cat's hip near the tail. Don't know why...
