Painting from Still Life

This was interesting to paint because of all the different textures it has. I was not happy with the colors when I finished, but the overall hat was nice enough in my view.
Hat: Extreme and Moderate Shadows; Burnt Umber, Naples Yellow, touch of White, Brownish Red. (As I said above, the color seemed correct when I used my color viewer up against the still life box, but once it was finished, it looked too red.

I used some Black mixed with the Extreme Shadow color of the hat to make the markings for the braid. Even though it is basically one hue, this was harder to paint than I imagined.
