Block03 Part06
Painting from Proportional Drawing

Because this is a still life and thus a Proportional Drawing, we always must send in three photos of our work. The first is the entire still life set up followed by the painting and ending with a combined photo of the painting sitting beside the still life.

I have had quite a lot of trouble getting good photographs of my work and have used the suggestions about lighting, direction of light source, etc. Not only have I watched all of the Evolve videos concerning this but also researched the web and found lots of information about it there. Still, I am having difficulty. I do my best, though.

Here is my outline for this work:
I had originally used a white cup but switched the cup from the white to a lilac one for the painting. Table: Moderate Light with Extreme Shadows
Red Pot: Extreme Shadow; Shev Red, Ultramarine Blue
Purple Box: Extreme Shadow; Red (purplish), Ultramarine Blue, Light Blue; the top of the box is White with a touch of red and blue
Lilac cup: Moderate Shadow; White with s touch of the paint from the Purple Box
Orange Circle: Extreme Shadow; Shev Yellow, Shev red, Naples Yellow

I think the cup is just a little too dark and too much blue, not enough red to make the lilac.  The box is a little too dark.
