Gray Scale Direct Painting

Direct Painting is more interesting way for me to paint. The video tutorials were lengthy and many, so I watched them through once, then watched a second time and took notes.

This first painting shows where my weaknesses are in terms of making colors gradually move into the next lighter or darker color (we are no longer doing the gradients as before.) I also am not happy with the fabric that is on the table. It is harder to paint than I realized.

Painting 01

I did do a photo of my signature practice. I generally sign my work as Jae, but am trying out using my entire name for the signature. As I get better at it, I may start using that to sign my works.
